MeowTown

Button

A three-panel MeowTown comic about a misidentified device. Panel one: Tater Tot (a buff tabby cat) holds out a small box with a red button on top. The person in the green shirt lights up with excitement, hearts in his eyes, and exclaims, 'OMG is that a cat-human translator so we can finally understand each other?!' Panel two: Tater Tot presses the button. The person's mouth is open mid-speech, but his speech bubble is completely empty — no sound comes out. Tater Tot looks blankly ahead. Panel three: The person panics, arms thrown up, eyes wide with alarm, mouth open in a silent scream — speech bubble still empty. Tater Tot wanders out of frame. The joke: it wasn't a translator. It was a mute button, and the cat knew exactly what it was doing.
