MeowTown

New Year's

A three-panel MeowTown comic about a cat ruining New Year's Eve. Panel one: A person in a blue shirt sits in an armchair wearing novelty pink 2026 glasses, watching the Times Square ball drop on TV. The countdown text floats above: '10..9..8..7..' He smiles in anticipation. Panel two: The countdown continues: '6..5..4..3..' His mouth opens in growing excitement. Cheddar (an orange tabby cat) has appeared in front of the TV, standing upright with his back to the viewer, staring intently at the descending ball. Panel three: The countdown reaches '2..1....' The person's expression is one of pure astonishment, mouth wide open. Cheddar has reached up and batted the ball directly out of the television screen — the ball is now physically falling outside of the TV, the screen showing only the empty Times Square scene where the ball used to be. The joke: cats cannot distinguish between objects on a screen and objects in physical space, and given the opportunity, will simply remove the offending object.
